Dosu and his teammates Zaku Abumi, and Kin Tsuchi are all followers of Orochimaru. The three of them are all genin from Oto no Kuni (Land of Sound). They have come with no intention of getting scrolls, or even passing the Chunin exam... they have come for Sasuke!

Dosu wears a device on his right arm, which serves as an amplifier. He doesn't have to strike his opponent with his fists. When he swings his fists the device on his arm sends out ultrasonic sound waves out, and he can channel all of his chakra in order to move the blasts to any opponent he desires.

"Dosu" is onomatopoeia for the sound of a sword piercing flesh.

Dosu was Killed by Gaara of the Sand before the final rounds of the Chuunin exams due to the urge to fight Sasuke Uchia sooner. Gaara kills Dosu immediately after Dosu challenges him
