Genma has to take over as a Chuunin Examiner after his friend Gekkou Hayate dies.

He wears his Konoha headband backwards and he always has a senbon in his mouth. Genma is a minor character and his first appearance is in Chapter 34.

Senbon's are long thin metal needles that can be used for medical treatment but most shinobi and tracker ninjas use them as weapon. Although they can easily pierce their skin, their only deadly if they hit a vital organ.
